In this fast-moving world of constant change, health problems among adolescents have to be brought to the fore. The growth period is highly sensitive and so parents and care providers should be wary of any overt signals. It would mean the world to be enlightened concerning these signs, and should the correct approach be adopted, it just may save their lives.

The most common physical health issue practiced in teens is obesity. The subsequent problematic elements of obesity are heart-related problems, diabetes, and hypertension. Other warning signals in teen years include obesity due to rapid gain in weight, fatigue, shortness of breath, and painful joints. It is necessary to encourage wholesome eating habits, proper amounts of exercise, and follow-up consultations with specialists to help lower incidences of obesity. Apart from this, another major concern regarding teenagers is stress and anxiety, which becomes a confrontation for many. About a decade long ago, this was taken lightly, considering that stress arises from school pressure, social demands, and, of course, hormonal changes. The signs of stress or anxiety among adolescents are often reflected in physical stressors such as headaches, stomach aches, muscle tension, and odd sleeping habits. Adults should make sure that the adolescent is able to express his or her feelings and should provide negotiations for relaxation, including all the possibilities of seeking counseling and therapy. Another serious problem that deals with physical health concerning teenagers is substance abuse. It has been noted that using drugs or alcohol in adolescence may lead to chemical dependency, problems in brain development, and, it has long been thought, serious health issues. If you have a teen, declining academic performance, withdrawal from friends and family, changes in guard or attitude, other physical markers, including bloodshot eyes or sudden weight loss, may signify drug abuse. In substance abuse, professional intervention is required along with confrontation, and family involvement needs to be fashioned with compassion and care. Thus, physical health will always remain the core of a teen's wholesome growth and development. Being on the lookout and containing symptoms will promise a better life.
